Explore Hoi An

Take a look at everything I got up to whilst I was in Hoi An. From the places I stayed, to the activities I did, and what I missed out on. <3

Hoi An

Hoi An is a charming ancient town in central Vietnam, known for its well-preserved architecture, lantern-lit streets, and rich cultural heritage. Once a bustling trading port, the town blends Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, and European influences, visible in its old wooden houses, temples, and iconic Japanese Covered Bridge.

By day, visitors can explore tailor shops, cafés, and art galleries; by night, the town glows with colourful lanterns reflecting off the Thu Bon River. Hoi An is also celebrated for its cuisine, including dishes like Cao Lau and White Rose dumplings. Just a short bike ride away are peaceful rice paddies and An Bang Beach, adding natural beauty to the town’s historical charm.

The most convenient way to get from A to B is to take a taxi. Using apps like Grab and inDrive are a popular choice when in Vietnam.

When it came to island hopping I quickly found that 12GO Asia was perfect. The app allows you to book ferries and speedboats to get from one island to another.

Long distance travel was made much easier when I was able to catch a flight. The app I used was Skyscanner and they offered several different airlines with various flight times.
